LIST OF REGISTERED ARCHITECTS AND FIRMS IN GOOD STANDING

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Architects Registration Council of Ghana by the Architects Decree, 1969 (N.L.C.D.357), the following listed Architects and Firms in good standing, and thus legally permitted to work in Ghana, are presented for the information of all Government Ministries/Departments, Parastatals, Metropolitan/ Municipal/District Assemblies, Public/Private Corporate Bodies, Employers and the General Public. Architects on the STANDING REGISTER are fully registered and can work or practice as consultants to clients and submit building plans for planning and development approval (View list) .

Architects on the PROVISIONAL REGISTER can work in employment or practice under supervision but not act in their personal capabilities as consultants until they have fulfilled the requirements of the professional practice examinations and or interview of the Council. They may however be able to submit building plans for planning and development approval under the name and signature of a fully registered Architect listed among those in good standing (View list).

Architects on the TEMPORARY REGISTER are foreign registered architects who do not intend to practice permanently in Ghana but are permitted to work on a specific project(s), subject to all statutory Immigration requirements.(View list)

Architectural Firms on the STANDING REGISTER are fully registered and are permitted to work as Consultants and submit building plans for planning and development approval

Architectural Firms on the TEMPORARY REGISTER are foreign registered firms who do not intend to practice permanently in Ghana but are permitted to work on a specific project(s) in association with a fully registered local firm, subject to all statutory Immigration requirements.(View list)

It is a punishable offence under the Architects Decree (1969) for a person working or carrying on a business in Ghana and not being an Architect registered under the Decree to use or cause to use, or permit to be used in connection with his name under which he carries on the work or business, the word "Architect". "Architecture" or "Architectural" or any words, initials, or abbreviation of words intended to cause or which may reasonably cause a person to believe that the person using the name is an Architect. The Architects Registration Council strongly advises Employers and the General Public to use Architects AND Firms that are registered with the Council and are thus bound by its Code of Conduct and Ethics, Disciplinary Procedures and the Conditions of Engagement. All Employers of Foreign Architects and firms working temporary in Ghana are also reminded and requested to ensure that such persons or firms register with the Council as required by the Architects Decree (1969). So far this year there is no such architect or firm registered in this category with the Council. The Architects Registration Council issues "Annual Practicing Certificates' to all Registered Architects and Architectural Firms in good standing. Such a certificate should be requested for from any Architect or Firm if and when needed, especially before employment or awarding commissions to persons, to confirm the Architect or Firm's registration status with the Council.
